• KEITH TO MAKE STAGE DEBUT AT THEATRE503

Boyzone singer and Coronation Street actor Keith Duffy is to appear in a revival of Billy Roche’s A Handful of Stars at Theatre503 in south London next month.

He will play Irish boxer Stapler in the show, marking his professional stage debut.

Theatre503 artistic director Paul Robinson will direct the production from April 30 to May 24, with press night on May 2.

A Handful of Stars premiered at London’s Bush Theatre in 1988 and was revived at the same venue as part of Roche’s Wexford Trilogy of plays in 1992.

The Theatre503 revival is part of the venue’s series that stages productions of neglected modern classics.

Design is by Signe Beckmann, composition by Simon Slater and lighting by Hartley T A Kemp.

  • KEITH DIVES INTO 'SPLASH!' FINAL!

Saturday saw Keith's semi-final of 'Splash!' take place. He was diving with a back injury that he picked up in training during the week, but he took on both his dives in the best way he could. He received 21.5 out of 30 from the judges for his first and and 23 for his second. Up against Perri Kiely from Diversity, Michaela Strachan and Danielle Lloyd; it was Perri that made it straight through to the final on viewers votes. Keith then had to dive again in the splash-off against Michaela and the judges put Keith through to the final, 2 to 1.

As well as getting into the final, he also managed to get everyone talking due to his trunks falling down on each of his dives! Everyone seems to now be looking forward to that final! (It takes place in 2 weeks time on Saturday 15th February, in case you were wondering!)

  • KEITH WINS IRISH PHILANTHROPIST OF THE YEAR

BOYZONE singer Keith Duffy's hard work to aid children with autism has earned him the title of philanthropist of the year.

The 39-year-old received the accolade in Dublin yesterday at the annual awards to credit those working in the charitable sector.

The father-of-two first started fundraising and working with Irish Autism Action (IAA) after his daughter Mia was diagnosed with the condition when she was just 18 months old.

Over the last decade the singer has helped to raise almost €4m, which contributed to the opening of 13 schools that employ the 'Applied Behavioural Analysis' programme for autistic children.
